I am sitting a school dinner, and the lady beside me introduces herself. She then proceeds to tell me that Dmitriy saved her life. She heard he was my brother in law. But at this point, I’m really confused how he could’ve saved her life.
Then, she shows me a picture of her car:
“Just 6 days earlier, Dmitriy tinted my car. The paramedics said that if the glass on this car wasn’t tinted, this back window would’ve shattered into a million pieces and quite possibly have killed me.”
Upon hearing the story, I knew that God’s hand was at work. In every part of our lives, His Mighty Hand is visible. Sometimes harm is done to us. We get into car accidents, we get ill, we get hurt both physically and emotionally, we’re strained financially, and the list goes on. But God is still in control. He cares for each and every one of us.
Therefore, anything that happens, happens for a reason. Sometimes it can be really hard for us to see that or to completely understand that, especially when catastrophes happen in our lives.
However, the prophet Habakkuk in Chapter 3 of his book puts it like this,
“Though the fig tree may not blossom,
Nor fruit be on the vines;
Though the labor of the olive may fail,
And the fields yield no food;
Though the flock may be cut off from the fold,
And there be no herd in the stalls—
Yet I will rejoice in the Lord,
I will joy in the God of my salvation.”
I wish I could say I always rejoice regardless of the circumstances, but I’ll be honest and admit that I complain here and there. Yet, these words are very inspirational.
May they inspire you as well to be thankful and rejoice. Regardless the circumstances. Regardless the pain.
