Is The Bible Old-Fashioned?

What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun. Ecclesiastes 1:9

People say the Bible is an outdated and old-fashioned book, and that it doesn’t need to be followed. I’m not much of a Bible scholar, yet, looking through history, I notice one pattern. Humans were always wicked. From the first murder crime scene (Cain killing Abel) to the last crime you heard last on the news today, these events all have one major thing in common.

Sin.

Even with new technologies appearing every day, the human heart is still full of evil. Unless Jesus’ blood has cleansed a person from sin, the master of that heart is the Devil.

So, if human hearts have always been the same, then why would the advice in the Bible be old-fashioned? To this day, God’s Word remains wise and true. To read and obey His Word is the best thing we can do in this life. The more we read His Word, the more we get to know God. It’s not always easy, but living in sin is hard too. We serve Satan when we live in sin. God wants us to live for Him and only Him.
