Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. 1 Peter 4:10
And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway took his journey. Matthew 25:15
Believe it or not, God gave every single human being that He created a talent. Maybe two. Maybe ten. But at least one, that’s for sure.
Now, the tricky part is, do you use the talent(s) God gave you? And if you do, do you do it for God’s glory? Or for your own benefit only without giving God credit and thanks.
Imagine how different this world would be if all those wonderful talents, intelligence, and skills that humans posses were used for a good purpose. On a grand scale imagine if instead of building atomic bombs, we would build beautiful architecture. Instead of doing war, we would do peace. Instead of murdering, we would find cures. Instead of killing our bodies with drugs and alcohol, we could grow healthy fruits, vegetables, and herbs to nourish. Instead of lying, we could speak truth. The list goes on and on.
I know, I’m a dreamer. But I believe in good. When God touches hearts, those hearts want to do good.
So let’s use the talents God has given us to do good. To do kind. To do love in this broken-hearted world.
Now, you might be thinking you don’t have any talents. But Scripture tells us otherwise. Each and every person has something they can do and do it well. Dig deeper inside your soul and ask God to help you discover what it is.
Serve Him with your talent(s) because you have only one life to live. It doesn’t necessarily have to be something big. God sees the heart and He knows if you do something passionately or half-heartedly.
And your talent doesn’t have to be something you do inside the church walls such as singing in the choir, preaching, or teaching Sunday School. Your talent may be not be something not directly related to church life at all, but if you do it for the Lord, that’s all that matters!
Maybe you’re a good baker or you enjoy making homemade lotions. Whatever it is, do it! And praise God for the talents and passions He had placed in your heart to make this world a better place to live in.
Spread God’s love, with your talent, your passion, your positivity.
