2,000+ Year Old Advice

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness. 2 Timothy 3:16

Reading the Bible, and most recently Proverbs, it amazes how there is absolutely nothing new under the sun. The problems that existed thousands of years ago, exist now too.

Some might see The Bible as an old book full of some good history or interesting stories, but the wisdom that God left for us in His Word is applicable today, in the 21st century.

We might have iPads and smartphones and a lot of other inventions. However, people’s hearts remained full of evil when they don’t seek the Lord. Lust, greed, hate, envy, adultery, and the list goes on. Our Biblical heroes dealt with similar (if not the same) problems we deal with now.

So if they were dealing with the same dilemmas, then the wise advice remains valid for us. We might sometimes think we know better or that people have advanced so far that Biblical truths are no longer relevant.

But the more we follow God’s Word, the more we will see just how powerful He is in everything! When we seek Him, He wants to bless us. That is God’s promise.

Yes, we will still encounter hardships in this sinful world, but He will give us strength to go through it all! God’s Word never fails, no matter what year or century it is.
