For this is the way the holy women of the past who put their hope in God used to adorn themselves. They submitted themselves to their own husbands. 1 Peter 3:5
Reading through stories of wives from Scriptures, there is one characteristic I noticed women sometimes lack. I being one of the guilty ones.
That characteristic is obeying your spouse.
Nowadays, women are seen just as in power just as men. But that’s not how God created it. He gave the husband the responsibility of being the head of household. But unfortunately, I like to get up on my “high horse” sometimes.
I like think I know best.
I like to expect things done for me like I’m some queen.
I like to take charge.
However, we see women like Sarah, Rebecca, Rachel respected and obeyed their husbands. It’s sure not an easy task. Each woman has her own opinions and thoughts. And there’s nothing wrong with sharing thm with our husbands. But when it come to the ultimate decision, letting him decide is what God wants us women to do.
I have a long ways to go, but I know I have God on my side. He can help me get of my “high horse” when I like to think too highly of myself.
How and who has been making decisions in the family?
