Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal.Matthew 6:19-20
Reading a blog I found http://thepeacefulmom.com/ inspired me to talk about money and people’s view on it. I always had this outlook, but when I encountered someone else who thinks along the same lines, I got really excited!
First, a little bit of background about the author of The Peaceful Mom. This is a stay at home mom who has four children. Their yearly income is $28,000 and with no debt. Yes, not a single credit card.
When I first saw the ad for the blog, I did not believe it. But reading through the blog, I realized that it is all about our outlook on money and life.
Yes, it is nice to earn a lot and spend a lot on all those things that we want in life. But there is more to life than having luxurious items, brand name clothes, a mansion house, a nice car, the newest technology, etc, etc.
When the world says more, More, MORE! God says that there is more to life than material things.
Giving our spouse and children expensive things is nice, but your time and love is more important. Material things pass away. They get old, they break, they get passed on. But the quality time and the love you spend on your relationships is much more lasting.
That lasts forever.
What are some ways to spend more quality time together?
