Comfort

Life is (Kinda) Like a Beach

Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful. John 14:27

When you pick up a postcard at any souvenir shop with a picture of the beach, chances are the sun is shining, the water is a fascinating aqua color, and the beach looks absolutely still and peaceful. However, the beach is not always this picture perfect.

The beach has cloudy days. The beach has thunderstorms. Sometimes it even has scary and destructive hurricanes. The hurricane takes everything in its path and makes a beautiful, peaceful beach look nothing like the postcard.

Thus is life.

There are periods in our lives that are not always peaceful and sunny. Problems arise that are at the intensity of a hurricane. Sometimes the conflict is not as bad. Maybe it is at the intensity of a small storm. But there will always be those storms in the middle of those calm and pretty days.

With the world around is constantly being negative (just check the news), it is so easy to feel like there is nothing good in this world. Wars, natural disasters, family problems, diseases, economy falling, are all problems affecting people everywhere.

But Jesus gives us hope! He tells us not to fear but have peace in our hearts, and everything will be A-OK! With His eternal peace, the biggest storms will be calmed by God, Himself. With constant prayer and God’s true peace, life is truly a beach, no matter what the weather is.

Him+Her Weekly Goal
Whatever the weather is on your beach, thank God every day this week for what you are going through now.
